POSITION SUMMARY
We're seeking an experienced
MEP QAQC
Lead to oversee the commissioning program and ensure quality compliance for high-performance data center mechanical and electrical systems . This role is deeply involved in MEP-intensive construction , ensuring that all critical infrastructure — including cooling, power distribution, BMS/EMS, and life safety systems — meets strict performance, efficiency, and reliability standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in mission-critical environments and excels at navigating between field execution, quality assurance, testing, and final commissioning delivery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as the primary lead for mechanical, electrical, and controls commissioning , ensuring performance validation of all mission-critical systems. Manage QA/QC processes for MEP scopes — review installation quality, verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and industry standards. Develop and execute comprehensive commissioning plans , including Pre-Functional Checklists (PFCs), Functional Performance Testing (FPT), and integrated system testing. Coordinate between Project Managers, Design Engineers, Trade Contractors, and Vendors to align commissioning activities with project schedules. Oversee documentation, issue tracking, and closure of deficiencies through well-maintained logs and reporting tools. Lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) , Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) , and equipment start-up procedures. Ensure accuracy and completeness of as-built documentation , O&M manuals, and training materials. Validate controls integration and inter-system communication — particularly BMS, EMS, fire alarm, and emergency power systems . Support turnover deliverables to operations teams and clients, ensuring all commissioning requirements are fully met. Promote continuous improvement and adherence to DEC's quality and commissioning standards .
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Systems Engineering , or related field.
Experience:
Minimum 7-10 years of experience in MEP commissioning and QAQC in industrial/commercial construction . Strong preference for data center or mission-critical system experience (UPS, generators, cooling plants, SCADA/BMS/EMS).
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of mechanical/electrical systems: chillers, CRAC/CRAH, switchgear, UPS, generators, fuel systems, fire protection, etc. Knowledge of testing protocols, start-up sequences, controls logic, and redundancy requirements (Tier III/Tier IV beneficial). Proficiency with Procore or equivalent QAQC/commissioning software is an asset.
Analytical Skills:
Ability to diagnose complex MEP system performance issues and drive resolution. Skilled in generating well-structured commissioning documentation and audit records.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication and leadership skills in high-pressure field environments. Highly organized, proactive, and driven by a commitment to quality and reliability . Able to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors. Certifications (a plus): CxA, CEM, PMP , or equivalent commissioning / QAQC qualifications. Safety certifications and specialized MEP training strongly valued.
