The Quality Systems & Sustaining Engineer owns the
ISO 9001
Quality Management System, leads corrective action and root cause investigations, manages the calibration program, and serves as the primary quality interface with customers.

$31.25-$36.54/hr
Quality Systems & Sustaining Engineer Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary owner, internal champion, and subject matter expert for the
ISO 9001
Quality Management System. Lead and coordinate internal audits, external certification audits, surveillance audits, and customer audits; develop audit schedules, plans, and reports, and verify effectiveness of corrective actions. Facilitate Management Review meetings and support quality objective development, tracking, and reporting to leadership. Lead investigations for internal nonconformances, customer complaints, supplier quality issues, and RMAs. Develop and manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, and Pareto analysis; track metrics and eliminate repeat escapes. Lead Material Review Board (MRB) activities and coordinate disposition of nonconforming material. Serve as the primary quality interface with customers; prepare and submit customer 8D reports and corrective action responses within required timeframes. Manage customer RMA investigations, quality surveys, scorecards, and portal submissions; support First Article Inspection (FAI) activities per AS9102. Own and administer the calibration program for all inspection, test, and measurement equipment, including external vendor coordination, scheduling, records, and audit documentation. Support Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and Gage R&R initiatives. Lead continuous improvement initiatives targeting scrap reduction, rework reduction, yield improvement, and cost of quality using Lean and Six Sigma tools (kaizen, value stream mapping, poka-yoke). Serve as the primary technical writer for quality procedures, work instructions, forms, and SOPs; manage document control, approval workflows, and revision history. Own and maintain the training matrix as part of the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process. Support process validations, qualification activities, and new product introductions. Monitor and report key quality performance indicators (KPIs) to management on a regular cadence. Other duties as requested.
Quality Systems & Sustaining Engineer Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field Minimum 5 years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (aerospace, semiconductor, precision machining, or high-technology manufacturing preferred) Demonstrated experience owning and maintaining an
ISO 9001
Quality Management System Experience leading or participating in certification, surveillance, and customer quality audits Proven experience managing corrective action investigations and preparing customer 8D responses Experience owning and managing a calibration and metrology program Strong technical writing skills and hands-on document control experience Strong understanding of root cause analysis methodologies: 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto, FMEA Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T Proficiency with MS Office 365 and ERP/MRP systems
ASQ CQE/CQA
certification and Six Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred Experience with SPC and process capability analysis preferred Ability to lift and carry 35 lbs.
