3745 Position type Onsite Join the MEPPI Team! Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer II. This position will lead and coordinate quality improvement activities for the Switchgear Division by analyzing quality issues, identifying root causes, and driving corrective action implementation. Manage and support the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring effective quality assurance processes and ongoing compliance with
ISO 9001
requirements.
What You'll Do:
Support and lead root cause investigations for production, process, or field issues to support divisional goals. Support and lead corrective action development and implementation for production, process and field quality issues. Verify effectiveness of implemented corrective actions to improve quality performance. Lead work with Switchgear Division departments to develop 5-WHY and Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEA's) problem solving techniques for divisional needs. Review, trend and closeout nonconformities and incidents on time and as required. Assist Engineering and Production personnel to identify design problems. Collaborate with suppliers, incoming inspection, in-process inspection, production and engineering to resolve in-process product assembly problems. Participate in and/or lead internal audits upon request. Work with all departments to help close audit findings in an effective and timely manner. Coordinate continued evaluation of procedures and documentation throughout Switchgear Division. Verify completeness, accuracy, and lack of redundancy. Facilitate in-house quality assurance and manufacturing improvement programs throughout Switchgear Division. Analyze field service reports and identify trends to develop preventative action plans. Travel to customer or supplier locations to audit, analyze and remedy quality problems. Assure quality records are generated, retained, stored, protected and disposed according to Switchgear Division and Company policies. Ability to travel domestically and internally up to 15% of the time as required. •The description above represents the most significant and essential duties of the job but does not exclude other occasional work assignments not mentioned.
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field with 3-5 years of experience in quality control and/or assurance function, or equivalent education and experience. Intermediate knowledge of ISO-9001, Quality Assurance and manufacturing improvement practices such as Lean and Six Sigma. Advanced knowledge of quality techniques such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Deming Methods, 5-WHY, 8DS, etc. Advanced interpersonal communication and presentation skills required to communicate with employees, vendors, and customers. Advanced computer skills with emphasis on MS Office products and MRP/ERP systems. What's in It for
