Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible to provide overall support within the quality management system and to assist manufacturing operations in ongoing activities in efforts to meet or exceed customer expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: ( List only essential duties to complete job ) 1. Work with engineering, manufacturing and other functional areas to resolve customer, internal and/or supplier quality issues 2. Support manufacturing and assembly processes to ensure conformance to the facilities established processes, as well as customer specific processes and requirements. 3. Use problem solving and statistical knowledge to lead in issue resolution and implement robust long-term corrective actions. 4. Support new program quoting process related to quality assurance activities. 5. Apply APQP practices to support flawless new program launches including customer specific approval processes (PPAP etc.). 6. Maintain quality system in-line with all requirements to sustain quality system certification 7. Review and approve supplier PPAPs for acceptable system control and on-going quality performance. 8. Support VAVE (Value Added Value Engineering) activities for customer, internal and supplier products/processes to drive cost out activities. 9. Read and interpret customer part and component drawings including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance), customer quality standards and/or requirements. 10. Ensure employees have sufficient job training and information to efficiently perform their tasks. 11. Represent the company's interests and capabilities in visits to, and conversations with, our current customers. 12. Other assignments or tasks as requested by the Quality Manager.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED
: 1. Bachelor's degree in quality or engineering from an accredited University or College. 2. 3 years related Quality Engineering experience. 3. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). 4. High degree of attention to detail and accuracy. 5. Must be willing to travel, possibly overnight. 6. Must maintain strict confidentiality. 7.
Excellent computer skills:
Windows, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
: Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, use of hands to inspect parts, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, talking and hearing. Employee will occasionally lift and/or move product. Quality Assurance Engineer must successfully pass required color testing where applicable.
