Job Description Who will you be working with? The Quality Technical Advisor (QTA) is responsible for leading all elements of "Manufacturing Quality" in their assigned area. This includes driving resolution of quality problems, ensuring compliance with Quality Management System procedures, and leading continuous improvement projects for manufacturing processes. In short, ensuring and improving the overall quality of all products manufactured within the QTA's area of responsibility. What will your typical day look like? Lead product quality in all aspects of manufacturing within the designated area of responsibility. Provide leadership as the main quality interface with Manufacturing, Engineering, Services, and other functions. Responsible for defining, implementing and managing crucial processes and metrics to meet customer quality expectations, internal quality expectations, financial, and contractual commitments. Lead root cause investigations of quality issues and containments of quality escapes, issue Quality Alerts and keep all stakeholders informed on progress and resolution. Define, implement, and manage Quality Inspection Plans (QIP / MIP) and other quality processes. Define, monitor, and improve quality metrics (DPU, NCMRs, CARs, Audits, Gage Calibration, Manufacturing Losses, etc.). Work closely with area team to set goals and drive continuous improvement activities, mentor Quality Star Points and teaming quality projects. Lead quality culture improvements. Work with the Quality Manager and other QTA's to promote a customer-focused "one team" approach to quality. Continuously develop product and process knowledge, become a product and process expert.
Own process compliance:
understand applicable Quality Management System documents, perform quality audits to ensure consistent adherence to procedures and processes, and drive CAR's and improvement plans to address nonconformances. Lead Manufacturing PPAP's and FAI's for significant process changes. What do we want to know about you? Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of manufacturing experience). Minimum of 2 years experience in a Quality, Manufacturing, or Engineering role. Desired Characteristics Strong customer focus, sense of urgency, ability to influence others and lead cross-functional teams Experience manufacturing, remanufacturing, or servicing Mining and/or Mining components. Demonstrated hands-on technical problem-solving experience Experience with welding, assembly, electrical, and test processes. Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement Experience with PPAP or similar part qualification processes. Computer and data analysis skills including intermediate Excel, Powerpoint and Visio. Statistically literate and familiar with Six Sigma quality concepts and tool. Ability to communicate issues effectively at all levels. Knowledge of ISO/AAR standards, quality procedures, and audit techniques; certified auditor Experience with Reliance, MES (Proficy), and other Wabtec supply chain quality and operational data sources Additional Information Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary rate for this role is currently $62100-85300 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
