Job Description:

The Lead Quality Engineer serves as the technical authority for quality, directing day-to-day quality work and leading the resolution of complex quality issues. This role partners closely with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, and Service to ensure that products meet internal quality standards and customer requirements while remaining highly hands-on in quality engineering work.
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead and perform inspections on finished equipment and sub‑assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. Own supplier quality activities, including supplier assessments, audits, corrective actions, and ongoing performance monitoring. Lead investigation and resolution of quality issues reported from the field or identified during installation, ensuring effective root cause analysis and corrective action implementation. Provide day‑to‑day technical direction to quality personnel by prioritizing work, clarifying inspection expectations, and ensuring consistent execution of quality processes. Develop, maintain, and improve inspection plans, checklists, and acceptance criteria for finished goods and in‑process inspections. Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for internal, supplier, and customer quality issues. Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Review and analyze quality data and inspection results to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities. Support new product introductions, engineering changes, and process improvements from a quality perspective. Maintain accurate quality records, inspection documentation, and supplier quality files. Support internal and external audits as required.

Strong knowledge of manufacturing quality principles, inspection methods, and defect prevention techniques.
Supplier Quality Management:
Ability to evaluate supplier performance and drive accountability to quality expectations.
Technical Leadership:
Ability to direct work, set priorities, and provide guidance to quality personnel in a subject‑matter‑expert capacity.
Problem Solving:
Proficient in root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action methodologies.
Technical Acumen:
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. Cross‑
Functional Collaboration:
Effective communicator who partners well with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders. Attention to
Detail:
High level of accuracy and consistency in inspections, data analysis, and documentation.
Continuous Improvement Mindset:
Proactively identifies risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve quality performance.
Organization & Accountability:
Manages multiple priorities and drives issues to resolution with minimal oversight.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality role within a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated experience with finished goods inspection and supplier quality management. Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies. Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
