Description Job duties: Lead R D to develop and prototype processes like ultrasonic welding, laser soldering, precision adhesive/paste dispensing, and electrical testing. Use Design of Experiments and SPC to fine-tune process parameters and achieve high capability/yield. Conduct process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and document process specifications, SOPs, and validation reports for new/modified processes. Lead Failure Mode & Effects Analysis and risk assessments to identify potential process failure modes and implement preventive controls. Coordinate introduction of new processes into production, plan pilot runs, and ensure smooth hand-off to manufacturing. Investigate complex process issues - e.g. weld or solder defects - and perform root cause analysis (8D, fishbone) to implement corrective actions. Drive ongoing improvements in process efficiency, throughput, and quality using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to reduce cycle time and scrap. Collaborate with equipment engineers and vendors to evaluate, select, and qualify new manufacturing equipment, tooling, or automation technologies for process enhancements.
