Job Description
WORKING LOCATION
(S) / HOURS Monday through Friday- 0700 to 1700; however, the Manager
- Monitoring and Diagnostics (M&D) is expected to be available after hours and on weekends, as required, to support the fleet of units under agreement.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering (Master's preferred). In lieu of a degree, extensive experience (10+ years) in Monitoring and Diagnostics will be considered.
- 7-10 years' experience with industrial gas turbines or equivalent experience (preferably F-class, G-class, or J-class).
- Prior experience in remote monitoring, control room operations, or reliability engineering strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with OEM systems (GE, Siemens, Mitsubishi, etc.
DCS/SCADA
environments.- Experience in recruiting, onboarding, and training technical personnel with expertise in Industrial Gas Turbine Operations and Commissioning, Root Cause Analysis and Diagnostics
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, combustion, rotating machinery, and vibration analysis with willingness to learn advanced techniques.
- Proficiency in historian platforms (AVEVA PI, Canary, Aspentech, GE Historian) and data analytics tools (Python, Power BI, MATLAB and equivalent).
- Knowledge of Advanced Patter Recognition (APR), predictive maintenance, condition-based monitoring (CBM), and digital twin technologies.
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Effective communicator able to translate technical findings into actionable recommendations.
- Team player comfortable in 24/7 operational environments with rotating shifts.
REPORTING / OPERATIONAL SUPPORT AREAS
The Manager- Monitoring and Diagnostics will report directly to Director
- Fleet Engineering and assist / support activities across Doosan Turbomachinery Services and Fleet Engineering

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the Monitoring and Diagnostics Center (M&D), ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient 24/7 surveillance of the gas and steam turbine fleet in alignment with OEM standards, corporate values, and performance objectives.
- Promote a positive, safety-first, and high-performance work culture, fostering teamwork, accountability, and continuous technical growth within the M&D organization.
- Oversee real-time monitoring and diagnostics of operating parameters (temperatures, pressures, vibrations, fuel flow, emissions, etc.) to identify abnormal trends, validate alarms, and guide rapid, data-driven response.
- Direct fault analysis and event management, ensuring verified issues are escalated promptly with clear, actionable recommendations to DTS management, plant, and field personnel.
- Drive performance and reliability analytics, tracking KPIs such as power output, efficiency, and heat rate degradation while identifying tuning and optimization opportunities across the fleet.
- Integrate and advance predictive and condition-based monitoring technologies, enabling early detection of potential failures and improving asset reliability and lifecycle cost performance.
- Ensure data quality, historian accuracy, and cybersecurity compliance across all M&D systems, dashboards, and analytics platforms (e.g., OSIsoft PI, Power BI, Seeq).
- Publish fleet health and reliability reports; lead root-cause investigations, develop lessons learned, and issue reliability advisories that drive continuous improvement and fleet standardization.
- Collaborate across engineering, field service, and operations to correlate monitoring insights with field findings, support outage assessments, and enhance predictive model accuracy.
- Represent the organization globally, supporting technology development, cross-training, and field assessments—including commissioning, tuning, and investigation support—as required by DTS Senior and Executive Management.
SPECIFIC TASKS
Fleet Operations & Event Management- Oversee daily monitoring of all operating gas and steam turbine units to ensure real-time visibility of fleet health, reliability, and performance
- Review and validate daily event summaries, alarms, and anomalies identified by M&D engineers or analytics systems, ensuring proper classification, escalation, and closure.
- Approve and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly fleet health reports, as required, summarizing performance trends, emerging risks, and reliability insights for internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct post-event and root-cause reviews to evaluate monitoring response effectiveness, identify process gaps, and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously expand a centralized knowledge base containing event reports, technical advisories, diagnostic notes, and lessons learned to enable faster issue resolution, consistency across teams, and long-term fleet knowledge retention. Notification, Alerting & Analytics Systems
- Lead the design, implementation, and governance of a standardized notification and alerting system that filters nuisance alarms, classifies alerts by severity, generates actionable insights (root cause, risk level, recommended response), and automatically distributes notifications to plant, field, and engineering teams.
- Define and maintain alert thresholds, validation logic, and escalation workflows using historical data, reliability models, and operational experience.
- Integrate automated alerts with visualization and analytics platforms such as PI Vision, Power BI, or equivalent to enhance situational awareness and operator efficiency.
- Collaborate with IT, data science, and digital engineering teams to expand machine learning-based anomaly detection and predictive analytics.
- Validate alert accuracy and performance, measuring improvements in anomaly detection timing, false-positive reduction, and avoided downtime. Team Leadership & Operational Governance
- Supervise, mentor, and develop M&D engineers and analysts, providing technical guidance and ensuring consistent coverage during high-priority or fleet-wide events.
- Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for monitoring practices, alert handling, communication protocols, and escalation criteria.
- Ensure system uptime, data integrity, and cybersecurity compliance across all monitoring platforms (PI, SCADA/DCS, digital twin environments).
- Manage the M&D event management database for accurate tracking of alerts, notifications, and resolution actions. Strategic Reliability & Digital Transformation
- Coordinate with design and reliability engineering to provide feedback on recurring alerts, combustion stability, and control system performance improvements.
- Develop and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for alert response time, issue resolution rate, and fleet reliability impact.
- Support long-term technology roadmap and digital transformation initiatives, aligning RMC capabilities with predictive maintenance, asset optimization, and customer performance objectives.
JOB SAFETY ANALYSIS
The candidate must be able to lift up to 50lbs and have the ability to stand for up to 8-12 hours per day, as required.INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
