Job Description
Quality Engineer -
Process & Systems Job Summary:
As a Quality Engineer, you will ensure product quality at critical stages of production, testing dimensions, performance, and mechanical properties. You'll lead key processes such as PPAP, FMEA, 8D, and DFM, record statistical test data, develop qualification methods, implement corrective actions, and analyze quality issues. Your role will also include supervising material inspections, addressing warranty-related concerns, and recommending process improvements.Key Responsibilities:
Test products at various production stages for quality metrics. Lead and facilitate quality processes (PPAP, FMEA, 8D, DFM). Record and analyze statistical quality data; approve production based on first-piece inspection. Develop fixture qualification methods and procedures. Implement corrective actions and address internal/external quality issues. Coordinate warranty activities and customer returns. Monitor process sheets and SPC activity, taking corrective action as needed. Recommend quality improvements within equipment capabilities.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred; minimum 3 years of experience in quality systems (ISO 9001/IATF 16949). Experience with materials/processes (castings, forgings, welding, machining) and CMM or Faro Arm knowledge. Strong GD&T understanding. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and basic geometry/algebra. Ability to present information effectively to customers, suppliers, and internal teams. Competence in statistical concepts (SPC, variance analysis, probability). Fluent in English and Spanish. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Travel:
