We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer to join our Regional Distribution Center (RDC) team in Chesapeake, Virginia . This is a fully onsite position. Regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM ET to 4:30 PM ET, with flexibility required based on business needs and operational requirements. The Quality Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of quality across our products, processes, suppliers, and customer interactions. This position partners closely with operations, engineering, supply chain, suppliers, and customers to drive continuous improvement initiatives, investigate quality concerns, implement corrective actions, and strengthen quality systems throughout the organization. Job Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols, procedures, and control plans to ensure compliance with company standards and industry requirements. Conduct audits of products, processes, suppliers, and systems to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure ongoing compliance. Analyze quality data and performance metrics using statistical methods to identify trends, drive corrective actions, and improve overall product quality. Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address internal, supplier, and customer quality issues. Partner with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing, distribution, and service processes through continuous improvement initiatives. Support supplier quality activities, including issue resolution, corrective actions, and quality performance monitoring. Address customer quality concerns and provide technical support to ensure timely and effective resolution. Develop and maintain quality documentation, work instructions, procedures, and records in accordance with
ISO 9001
requirements. Prepare and present quality reports, audit findings, corrective actions, and performance metrics to management. Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and operational excellence. Train and mentor employees on quality standards, best practices, and continuous improvement methodologies. Stay current on quality engineering trends, industry standards, and emerging best practices. Collaborate with global Busch teams, suppliers, and customers to support quality initiatives and business objectives. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field required. 5+ years of quality engineering and/or manufacturing engineering experience within a manufacturing environment required. Strong knowledge of quality management systems, quality standards, and quality methodologies, including
ISO 9001.
Experience conducting root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. Experience utilizing statistical analysis tools and quality management methodologies. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP. Certification as a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Manager (CQM) preferred. Experience working with suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams to resolve quality concerns preferred. Personal Qualifications Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Job Requirements Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen and 7-year criminal history check. Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE. Valid driver's license required and must meet Busch insurance requirements. Ability and willingness to travel (up to 10%) including occasional domestic and international travel. Employment with Busch Vacuum Solutions requires current work authorization in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and computer work. Frequent communication with employees, suppliers, and customers. Occasional lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds. Ability to work in both office and warehouse environments. Must be able to see and hear audible and visual alarms and wear all required PPE.
