Job Description

Basic Qualifications Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related Science, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 2+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree and 6 months of job-related experience.

: [Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire.] Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required. Responsibilities for this Position General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Sr Quality Engineer. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS
Implements, and maintains quality assurance protocols and methods for processing materials into partially finished or finished productsDesigns methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, production equipment and finished productsPerforms analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessaryReviews Documents/Drawings/Instructions for conformance to requirements Complete
FAI, TDP
reviews, and other compliance activities as necessaryCompares defects against standards and recommends dispositions, and verifies implementation of rework Collects, organizes and analyzes project data, generates and/or reviews metrics Performs audits, assigns corrective action, and verifies implementation Represent the company and program to customersParticipates in project reviews and meetings including technical design reviews, technical peer reviews Verifies compliance to defined requirementsWitnesses and or monitors test activitiesInterfaces with various engineering disciplines, manufacturing, program management, and other quality personnelSome contact with project leaders and other professionals within the Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality departmentsWorks as an individual technical contributor on one or multiple project Participates as an active member of the project teamInterfaces with customer representativesProvides resolution to problems of moderate scopeTravel may be requiredSecurity clearance may be required

Very solid knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, and AS9146Very solid knowledge of Microsoft Office applicationsVery solid written and verbal communications skillsAbility to think creativelyAbility to multi-taskVery solid skills in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actionsVery solid ability to clearly recognize and report relevant to sound quality engineering practicesVery solid knowledge of interpretation of drawingsVery solid skills in reviewing documents/drawings/instructions for conformance to requirements techniquesVery solid skills in reporting quality activities, findings, and issues both in writing and verballyVery solid interpersonal skillsVery solid knowledge of use of relevant inspection/measurement tools and techniquesVery solid computer skills, both desktop software and required factory or engineering tools

Salary Note This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled. Combined Salary Range USD $94,056.00 - USD $104,343.00 /Yr.
