We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Engineer for our Everett, WA facility. Vaupell designs, engineers, and produces custom, high performance engineered plastic and composite components and assemblies for demanding applications. Position Purpose Under the guidance of the Quality Manager, a Quality Engineer will drive continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing system. They will utilize corrective and preventive actions to close gaps in the QMS and ensure the flow down of quality requirements to internal customers. Additionally, they will be the voice of quality within the organization and represent Vaupell for all assigned external customers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Represent Vaupell in customer and supplier interactions (if applicable.) Attend daily production meetings as required. Direct new product validation & process qualification to establish controlled process, ensuring reliable product. Perform Risk Analysis to assure product and process success. Develop Control Plans. Develop and provide training in QA related subjects for Quality and Manufacturing departments. Evaluate and process RMA requests. Develop and recommend inspection and sampling techniques, quality control plans or process procedures to meet the quality specification standards and provide associated training. Perform quality audits covering in-house Quality Management System to ensure that conformance to requirements is met. Be a resource for all departments within Vaupell. Provide technical assistance to the Purchasing department in connection with the purchase of raw materials and supplies. Responsible for following all established Vaupell policies, standard operating procedures and safety practices. Other duties as assigned Job Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor's degree in an applicable field or equivalent education plus work experience in a similar role. 5+ years of relevant Quality experience. ISO13485 or
ISO9001, AS9100, NADCAP
experience highly desirable as applicable Boeing Quality Systems experience desirable ASQ certification is desirable. Knowledgeable in plastics processing, manufacturing is desirable. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret part drawings and standards. Excellent computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office. Ability to read, speak, understand, and follow instructions in English. Must be able to wear and properly use the required personal protective equipment. Candidates must be a "US Person" (i.e., US Citizen or Permanent Resident) to ensure Vaupell's compliance with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations) Environmental Condition While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud. Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to sit for extended periods and regularly stand, walk, carry, lift, and push up to 25 pounds. The role also involves frequent use of the hands for grasping, handling, finger dexterity, feeling, keyboarding, and coordination, as well as occasional bending, reaching above and below shoulder level, climbing stairs or ladders, balancing, kneeling, crawling, pulling, and turning or twisting. Ordinary hearing and near vision acuity are required, and color perception is needed on a regular basis. These physical requirements are considered essential functions of the position and may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation in accordance with applicable law.
