Quality Engineer Reports To:
Engineering Manager Position Summary The Quality Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving product and process quality across the organization. This role focuses on root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and ensuring adherence to quality standards and procedures. The Quality Engineer works closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure product quality, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Manage and analyze product returns, customer complaints, and non-conformance reports Maintain and improve the non-conformance and corrective action system (CAPA) Develop and implement quality assurance plans, including control points, inspection methods, and verification procedures Analyze quality data to identify trends in defects, scrap, and rework Lead root cause analysis efforts and drive corrective and preventive actions to completion Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues and implement improvements Develop and refine inspection methods based on engineering requirements and quality standards Support calibration programs and ensure proper functionality of inspection and measurement equipment Ensure compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and internal quality policies Work with suppliers to ensure incoming material quality, including audits and evaluations Investigate customer complaints and coordinate corrective actions across departments Maintain accurate records for inspections, material traceability (MTRs), and compliance documentation Train and mentor team members on quality processes and best practices Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience Minimum of 5 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment Strong experience with root cause analysis and driving corrective actions to closure Experience with fabrication (machining, welding, polishing, etc.) Proficiency with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, profilometers, etc.) Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Proactive mindset with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
