Job Description

Overview The Quality Engineer optimizes the quality of Bruno products by acting as a key liaison between engineering, manufacturing, assembly, test, & packaging operations, and supply chain management. Provides input to product documentation such as drawings, specifications, and inspection and testing methods and plans. Supports internal operations by educating employees, working to resolve product and process quality issues, and tracking, trending, & reporting performance data. Communicates quality plans, quality issues, and performance data to suppliers in support of new product introductions as well as serial production. Responsibilities
QUALITY CONTROL AND ASSURANCE
Define quality standards, create inspection plans, develop test methods Implement statistical process control methods and techniques to monitor and control manufacturing processes Inspect raw materials, components, assemblies, and processes, either personally or utilizing Quality Technicians, to ensure that requirements are met Ensure calibration of gages and measuring equipment is in compliance and records are maintained Track performance data, analyze results, and generate reports to identify areas for improvement
PROBLEM SOLVING AND IMPROVEMENT
Investigate non-conformances to determine root cause, recommend corrective actions Lead cross-functional problem-solving teams to address complex issues Implement corrective & preventive actions and verify outcomes - both internally and with suppliers Identify opportunities for improvement in manufacturing processes and product quality
COLLABORATION AND COMPLIANCE
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and other teams to ensure quality is integrated throughout the product life cycle Interact with suppliers, including supplier visits, to facilitate effective communication Maintain detailed documentation, including quality plans, inspection reports, and validation protocols Communicate with internal departments, suppliers, auditors, etc. in verbal and written format Maintain knowledge of industry regulations and standards to ensure the company remains compliant Identify gaps in the Quality Management System and initiate updates to address the gap Train others in quality processes, procedures, and tools Participate in interviewing, hiring, and on-boarding new employees as appropriate Qualifications Bachelor's degree in quality, engineering, manufacturing, and a minimum of 3-years' experience in Quality Certification to a recognized body of knowledge, such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer is preferred Work experience in the relevant areas, along with increasing responsibilities over time Problem solving, corrections, corrective action and project management Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) Quality Management Systems, such as ISO-9001 or
ISO-13485
Knowledge of inspection equipment and techniques, engineering drawing standards, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
