job summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Software Verification Engineer to join our team. In this onsite role, you will work functionally across R D, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to design, develop, and execute comprehensive software verification test approaches for manufacturing equipment, automation, and systems. This role requires a unique blend of hands-on manual testing on physical laboratory devices alongside the leadership and architecture of automated test suites.

San Diego, California job type: Contract salary: $55 - 64 per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Lead the architecture, development, and execution of automated test suites and manual test cases. Perform functional and integration testing on tool equipment directly within the Manufacturing Lab. Partner with R D, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to develop verification test approaches. Work collaboratively with external providers of automation and manufacturing equipment to ensure fit-for-purpose software that meets MTT and organizational requirements. Write robust verification plans, test protocols, test reports, and requirements traceability matrices in strict accordance with established SDLC methodologies. Assist in defining, capturing, and documenting user needs and system requirements. Participate in software requirement and design reviews. Drive efforts to improve the formal verification process and identify opportunities for continuous pipeline optimization. Deliver high-quality software products within a fast-paced team environment using established Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) against formal schedules. Utilize defect tracking, test case management, and version control tools (such as Jira and Git) as an integral part of the software development life cycle. Maintain awareness of industry trends, evaluate new software testing technologies, and occasionally provide technical assistance for escalated production issues.
qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent technical field. 5 to 10 years of professional experience in software or system verification. 5+ years of hands-on experience with software or system verification. 5+ years of experience in UI and API Automation. 5+ years of experience in manual testing and tracking results, specifically testing software on physical devices in a laboratory setting. 5+ years of experience writing detailed, error-free test cases directly derived from user stories and provided requirements. Proven experience writing verification plans, software verification reports, and all aspects of compliance documentation required for formally releasing a product. Demonstrated capability implementing and utilizing defect tracking, test case management, and requirement management/traceability tools. Possesses robust technical expertise combined with sharp analytical and problem-solving abilities. Demonstrates outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Highly proactive, takes full ownership of tasks, and thrives as a motivated independent worker within a team framework.
