Who You Are Join Intel's Silicon Engineering Group as a CPU Design Verification Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of high-performance, power-efficient processors. In this role, you will contribute to verifying and validating cutting-edge CPU architectures that power millions of devices worldwide, from laptops and desktops to servers, gaming systems, and AI/ML workloads. Working alongside world-class CPU architects, RTL designers, and physical design teams, you will help ensure designs meet rigorous functional, performance, and power goals. This is an exciting opportunity to tackle deep technical challenges, influence industry-leading technologies, and contribute to products that impact billions of users globally.Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute comprehensive verification plans to validate CPU logic against architectural and microarchitectural specifications. Create scalable verification environments, including UVM-based testbenches and functional coverage models. Perform functional coverage analysis, identify verification gaps, and implement strategies to close them. Run system-level simulations to validate functionality, power, and timing, uncovering bugs and ensuring design robustness. Debug and root-cause issues in pre-silicon environments and implement corrective measures to resolve test failures. Collaborate closely with CPU architects, RTL developers, and physical design teams to verify complex architectural and microarchitectural features. Maintain and enhance verification infrastructure, methodologies, and automation flows to optimize workflows and throughput. Develop scripts and automation tools using Python, Perl, C++, or similar languages to improve verification processes. Document verification strategies and drive technical reviews with cross-functional stakeholders. Contribute to the definition and refinement of CPU architecture and microarchitecture features to meet functional, performance, and power goals.Qualifications:
You must possess the minimum education requirements and minimum required qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Additional preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or in a STEM related field of study with 1+ years of relevant experience -OR- Master's Degree in Electrical Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or in a STEM related field of study 1+ years of experience in modeling languages such as Verilog, VHDL, or SystemVerilog, and industry-standard simulation tools. 1+ years of experience developing UVM-based testbenches for reusable and scalable verification environments. 1+ years of experience in scripting language i.e. Python or Perl and C+Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field. Knowledge of x86 architecture, Intel Architecture ISA, and assembly programming.Similar remote jobs
