Verification & Validation (V&V) Engineer - Safety-Critical Systems Summary The Verification & Validation (V&V) Engineer is responsible for independent verification and validation of safety-related instrumentation and control systems. This role ensures system, software, and hardware designs meet defined requirements, quality standards, and regulatory expectations in compliance with IEEE 1012 and NQA-1-based QA programs. Key Responsibilities + Perform analysis, review, and testing of system development lifecycle deliverables. + Review requirements specifications, including traceability and fulfillment analysis. + Develop and execute V&V analyses in alignment withIEEE 1012.
+ Create and execute test procedures at the element, module, and system levels. + Conduct simulation-based testing using MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow. + Perform hardware and integrated system testing, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT). + Collaborate closely with design and QA teams to ensure product compliance. + Deliver project activities within schedule and budget constraints. Qualifications + BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering. + 5+ years of Verification & Validation experience. + Hands-on experience with system testing and hardware testing. + 3+ years experience with MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow. + Experience working within NQA-1 or equivalent QA programs. + Experience with safety-related systems preferred; DOORS or Questa Sim a plus.
