Job Description

Stormwater Engineer (5+ Years Experience)•Fort-Lauderdale or Jupiter, FL Looking to take the next step toward project management while working on meaningful municipal stormwater and water resources projects across South Florida? Why This Role Is Exciting As a Stormwater Engineer, you'll play a key role in delivering impactful municipal and water resources projects while building toward a Project Manager position.
Your work will include:
Designing and modeling stormwater systems for municipal infrastructure improvements, roadway drainage, and capital improvement programs. Performing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support flood mitigation, drainage studies, and resiliency planning efforts. Developing stormwater management solutions for public-sector clients, including cities, counties, and water control districts. Applying 1D/2D modeling to evaluate conveyance systems, floodplain behavior, and infrastructure performance. Supporting permitting and regulatory coordination with local agencies, water management districts, and FEMA where applicable. Contributing to watershed studies, master drainage plans, and system evaluations that inform long-term infrastructure decisions. You'll collaborate closely with senior leadership, interface with municipal clients, and mentor junior staff, gaining the experience needed to transition into a Project Manager role in the near future. What We're Looking For 5+ years of experience in stormwater engineering, drainage design, and hydrology/hydraulics. Bachelor's (or Master's) degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering. Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (required). Experience working on municipal or public-sector drainage and stormwater projects. Strong understanding of Florida stormwater regulations and permitting processes. Proven ability to manage tasks, communicate with clients, and contribute to project delivery. Desire and capability to step into a Project Manager role within the next 1-3 years. Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency with industry tools such as: HEC-RAS (1D/2D) ICPR / SWMM or similar modeling software AutoCAD Civil 3D GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS) Why Join This Team?
