Job Description
The City of Ocoee is seeking an Engineer Intern to join our Utilities Department. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to build a strong engineering foundation while contributing to projects that support our growing community. The intern will gain hands-on experience support Utilities department Programs across a wide range of planning, engineering, grant management, policy development, and public outreach initiatives. Designed for individuals working toward an engineering degree or recent graduate, this position provides exposure to multiple engineering disciplines. Whether you bring a few years of experience or are just beginning your career, you will collaborate with professionals in water distribution, wastewater collection, and treatment operations. Update facilities inventory lists Lift station data input and analysis Support Utilities projects Water supply planning and permitting support Utilities fee study Effective Utilities Management Evaluation Water meter performance and benchmark study Water and wastewater facilities water quality analysis Student must be enrolled in a civil engineering program at an ABET accredited engineering school with the goal of obtaining a Bachelor Degree in any engineering discipline or have obtaining and engineering. Student must have completed a minimum of one (1) year of engineering coursework to be eligible. Additionally, the intern should possess the following qualifications: The working knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques applied to the functions of engineering. Excellent verbal and written communication skills independently with some direction Works effectively in a team environment
