A highly respected, multidisciplinary engineering and project delivery firm is seeking a Water Resources Lead to support civil infrastructure and water systems work throughout the region. The organization provides services across water resources, construction support, environmental work, project management, and geospatial disciplines. This role is based in Baton Rouge and will collaborate closely with both internal teams and external clients. Role Summary The Water Resources Project Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and delivering projects involving Water Resource/Drainage systems. The position requires a licensed Professional Engineer with strong technical capabilities, leadership skills, and the ability to manage scope, schedule, and client expectations. You will also be leading a group of Water Resource Engineers. This individual will help guide junior staff, contribute to business development efforts, and serve as a technical resource across multiple functions. Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor junior engineers, designers, and technical staff. Provide engineering services for water resources, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure. Develop detailed designs using Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and H&H modeling software. Conduct design reviews, quality checks, and constructability assessments. Manage project scope, resources, schedules, budgets, and deliverables. Identify risks and communicate mitigation strategies to teams and clients. Prepare technical reports, calculations, plans, presentations, and proposals. Coordinate internally to align engineering, field operations, and construction efforts. Conduct site visits, attend board meetings and conduct field assessments during planning, design, and construction phases. Support business development, marketing, and client‑facing initiatives. Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and assist in pursuing new opportunities. Provide technical guidance in design criteria development and project delivery approaches. Ensure compliance with P.E. standards and regulatory requirements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil preferred). Active Louisiana Professional Engineer (P.E.) license. Minimum 8 years of experience involving project management responsibilities. At least 5 years of civil engineering experience in water resources. Proficiency with Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and common H&H modeling software. Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and within cross‑functional teams. Strong analytical, organizational, and time‑management abilities. Competencies & Additional Information Skilled in technical writing and client communication. Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
