Job Description CityScape Engineering is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to play a key role in delivering green infrastructure projects shaping Baltimore's future. This role is ideal for an engineer who is ready to take ownership of design components, deepen technical expertise, and contribute to sustainable, environmentally responsible solutions. As a core member of our Green Team, you will contribute to multidisciplinary design efforts, coordinate with agencies and project partners, and support projects ranging from urban infill development to mixed use redevelopment, green streets, public parks, and environmental restoration. You will take increasing responsibility for design execution while working closely with senior staff to deliver high-quality work. Responsibilities Lead the design of project components including site layout, grading, and stormwater systems under the guidance of senior staff. Develop design packages from concept through final construction documents for assigned project elements. Prepare and refine stormwater management strategies, including ESD, LID, and BMP systems. Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and apply engineering judgment to inform design decisions. Coordinate design tasks with internal team members, subconsultants, and clients. Support permitting processes, including preparation of applications and direct coordination with regulatory agencies. Maintain working relationships with local and state reviewers and support response to agency comments. Review design work for accuracy, completeness, and constructability prior to senior review. Participate in site visits, field investigations, and construction phase support. Assist in identifying design challenges and contribute to practical, efficient solutions. Support proposal development through technical input, scope development, and budgeting assistance. Mentor junior staff and provide guidance to Design Engineers and CAD team members. Contribute to internal discussions on design standards, innovation, and sustainable practices. Continue progressing toward increased technical expertise and responsibility. Contribute to a collaborative, mission driven culture focused on equitable and sustainable design. What Success Looks Like Independently delivering high quality design components with minimal oversight. Demonstrating sound engineering judgment in grading, drainage, and stormwater design. Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in Maryland or ability to attain reciprocity in Maryland within 6-months from start date. 5-7 years, minimum, civil engineering experience with a focus on stormwater management, green infrastructure, hydrology, and hydraulics Demonstrated experience preparing construction documents and supporting project delivery. Strong familiarity with site design principles, grading, and stormwater management. Solid understanding of civil engineering standards, permitting processes, and best practices. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (or equivalent). Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to site design and green infrastructure. Strong command of Microsoft Office and engineering drafting tools. Creative problem solver with strong attention to detail. Effective communicator—both written and verbal. Organized, self directed, and able to manage deadlines across multiple assignments. Committed to integrity, client service, and community driven design.
