Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Early-Career Water Resources Engineer in one of our following offices: Wilmington, NC; Charlotte, NC; Raleigh, NC. This position offers the opportunity to be hybrid in one of the offices listed. The position will work with a multi-disciplinary team where you will apply your academic knowledge and practical experience to real-world situations related to water resources and ecological restoration projects while also learning and expanding the business skills needed for a successful consulting career. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analysis and modeling; Watershed, stormwater management, and stream restoration design and analysis; Surface water quality/hydrodynamic modeling and environmental data analysis; Green infrastructure/low impact development best management practice design; Floodplain modeling and permitting; Erosion and sediment control design; Clean Water Act/National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) compliance; Civil/infrastructure design and site layout; Site visits/field investigations; and Preparation of technical reports, calculations, drawings, specifications, etc. Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed. Education and Licensure Bachelors degree in civil, environmental, or agricultural/biosystems engineering or related science. (required) Advanced degree in engineering or science. (preferred) Skills, Experience and Qualifications Prior internship experience in environmental consulting. (preferred) Experience with modeling/design tools such as ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, HY-8, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and TR-55. (preferred) Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required) Some field work and overnight travel.
