Job Description

Instrumentation & Controls Engineer Location:
Albuquerque, NM Role Overview We are seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer with 5+ years of experience to support automation projects across water, wastewater, and industrial facilities. This role focuses on developing control system designs, coordinating with project teams and clients, and supporting projects through design, construction, and startup. You will contribute to delivering reliable and well‑integrated I&C systems for critical infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with project managers and clients to define control system requirements and overall project scope Develop control concepts, instrumentation selections, and scopes of work for new projects and upgrades Prepare I&C design deliverables such as P&IDs, I/O lists, panel layouts, network diagrams, and instrument data sheets Support SCADA and PLC system design, including communications and network architecture Review vendor submittals, equipment documentation, and technical specifications Assist with cost estimates and support project planning activities Participate in design meetings, workshops, and internal coordination efforts Prepare technical documentation including system descriptions and reports Provide field support during construction, testing, and commissioning phases Ensure quality and consistency across all I&C deliverables Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or related engineering discipline 5+ years of experience in instrumentation and control system design within water, wastewater, or industrial environments Strong understanding of
PLC/SCADA
systems, instrumentation, and industrial communication networks Ability to develop and interpret P&IDs, control schematics, I/O lists, and panel drawings Strong communication and coordination skills Ability to manage multiple assignments across project phases Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common engineering tools Willingness to travel as needed for site visits and project support
Compensation Salary Range:
