Job Description

Our client is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join its growing team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This role sits within a large, multidisciplinary office environment and offers the opportunity to work alongside engineers, environmental scientists, and planners on a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and environmental projects. Support the planning, analysis, and design of water resources and environmental infrastructure projects from concept through construction Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modelling for watersheds, river systems, and stormwater networks using industry-standard tools such as HEC-RAS Contribute to drainage design, stormwater management systems, and floodplain analysis for both public and private sector developments Assist with dam safety evaluations, flood mitigation strategies, and post-flood recovery and resilience projects Support stream and ecosystem restoration initiatives, including channel design and stabilisation work Prepare technical reports, modelling documentation, design calculations, and construction drawings Assist with permitting efforts and regulatory coordination with local, state, and federal agencies Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including civil, geotechnical, environmental, and ecological specialists to deliver integrated design solutions Participate in client meetings and project coordination to support successful project delivery across multiple market sectors The ideal candidate will have a background in civil or environmental engineering with experience in water resources, hydrology, or a related discipline. Experience with modelling software, strong analytical skills, and the ability to contribute within a collaborative consulting environment are key to success in this role.
