San Diego, CA | Hybrid A highly respected, water-focused engineering consulting firm is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to support the delivery of complex water and wastewater projects across the San Diego region. The Opportunity This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys a combination of technical design, project involvement, and real-world infrastructure challenges. You will work on projects that go beyond routine design, contributing to the planning and execution of essential water and wastewater systems that directly impact communities. Key Responsibilities Support and lead the design and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including: Conveyance systems (pipelines, distribution, collection) Pump stations and related facilities System upgrades and rehabilitation projects Prepare engineering calculations, design plans, and technical reports Collaborate with project managers, technical specialists, and multidisciplinary teams Participate in project coordination and contribute to overall project delivery Review technical work and support quality assurance across deliverables Assist in mentoring junior engineers and supporting team development Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering field Professional Engineer (PE) license required Typically 7-12 years of experience in water/wastewater infrastructure engineering Strong background in conveyance and system infrastructure design Experience working within a consulting environment Strong technical, communication, and problem-solving skills What Sets This Role Apart Opportunity to work within a dedicated water-focused practice, gaining depth in the water sector Exposure to complex, high-impact infrastructure projects across the region A balanced role combining technical design, project involvement, and team collaboration Access to a strong technical bench and experienced subject matter experts Environment that supports continuous development and progression Clear pathway toward project leadership and advanced technical roles Compensation $135,000•$170,000 base salary , depending on experience, plus performance-based bonus and comprehensive benefits.
