Job Description

Senior Water Resources Engineer Location:
Southern California (Hybrid)
Compensation:
$140,000•$190,000+ DOE, Bonus Eligible A highly respected engineering and environmental consulting firm is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join its growing team in Southern California. This is an opportunity to work on meaningful projects that directly impact water quality, watershed resilience, flood risk reduction, stormwater management, and sustainable infrastructure. The firm has built a strong reputation for delivering innovative solutions to public agencies, municipalities, and regional stakeholders throughout the Western United States. The team is looking for a technically strong engineer who enjoys solving complex challenges, collaborating across disciplines, and helping shape projects that make a lasting impact on communities and the environment. Responsibilities Lead technical delivery of water resources and stormwater projects from planning through design and implementation. Manage project tasks, budgets, schedules, and client communication. Prepare and oversee hydrologic and hydraulic analyses. Support watershed planning, drainage studies, flood mitigation, and stormwater management projects. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, scientists, planners, and environmental specialists. Mentor junior staff and support technical development across the team. Contribute to project pursuits and client relationship development. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline. PE license required. 8+ years of experience in water resources, stormwater, watershed, or flood control projects. Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling. Strong technical writing and communication skills. Proven ability to manage projects and collaborate with public sector clients. Experience delivering projects for municipalities, counties, flood control districts, or water agencies is highly desirable. Why Consider This Opportunity?
