Job Description

Developing design calculations, cost estimates, and engineering documentation with precision and creativity to support planning, design, and construction phases. Developing project delivery strategies, managing work plans, and contributing to QA/QC processes to ensure timely, efficient, and budget-conscious execution of engineering tasks. Assisting with pricing, scoping, and proposal development for new project pursuits, including PFAS treatment systems, solids handling upgrades, and wastewater plant expansions. Coordinating with CAD teams to produce 3D models, process flow diagrams, and detailed construction documents for treatment facilities and pump stations. Preparing and modifying technical reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and engineering designs in alignment with project goals. Performing planning-level studies on infrastructure systems to evaluate capacity, performance, and future upgrade needs. Accumulating and analyzing operational and environmental data, presenting findings in professional reports, memos, and presentations for internal and client use. Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams across multiple offices to ensure alignment, maintain project momentum, and meet key milestones. Conducting field investigations, site visits, and condition assessments to inform design decisions, identify process improvements, and support constructability reviews. Reviewing and managing hydraulic models for complex water and wastewater systems, including influent/effluent piping, diversion chambers, and equalization tanks. Maintaining open communication with internal teams, clients, and regulatory agencies to coordinate technical deliverables, resolve design issues, and support permitting and compliance efforts. Hybrid schedule is allowed.
TRAVEL:
up to 15% domestic travel.
LI-DNI REQUIREMENTS
This position requires a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related field and 5 years of work experience in the job offered or related Water/Wastewater Engineering occupation. As an alternative, employer will accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related field and 7 years of work experience in the job offered or related Water/Wastewater Engineering occupation.
SPECIFIC SKILLS
Expertise and knowledge of: Develop process flow diagrams, mass balances, and perform hydraulic modeling and calculations for water and wastewater treatment systems, Draft and design water/wastewater infrastructure using AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Utilize Revit for BIM modeling, especially in multidisciplinary projects. Bluebeam Revu for reviewing and marking up PDFs, especially design drawings and submittals. Conduct cost estimation, hydraulic modeling and simulation using MS Excel and WaterGEMS. Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
