This role will support a variety of watershed planning, stormwater, drainage, and water resources projects for municipal, state, federal, and private clients across the region. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical foundation in hydrology and hydraulics while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, sustainable solutions that improve infrastructure resiliency and support long-term community growth. Key Responsibilities Support watershed planning, stormwater, drainage, and water resources engineering projects from concept through construction Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for watershed studies, drainage systems, stormwater infrastructure, floodplain analysis, and resiliency projects Prepare technical reports, drainage studies, calculations, exhibits, and construction documents for municipal, transportation, and land development projects Assist with watershed master planning efforts, flood mitigation studies, erosion and sediment control design, and stormwater management planning Coordinate with project managers, engineers, planners, and clients to develop practical and technically sound solutions while maintaining project schedules and budgets Support permitting and regulatory coordination efforts with agencies including FEMA, USACE, MDEQ, local municipalities, and state transportation agencies Participate in field investigations, site visits, data collection, and construction support activities as needed Utilize industry-standard software including
HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HY-8, GIS
platforms, and AutoCAD Civil 3D to support engineering analyses and design efforts Contribute to proposal development, client meetings, and multidisciplinary project coordination efforts Maintain a strong commitment to quality, safety, teamwork, and client service throughout all phases of project delivery What you'll need Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Biological Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program required 3 to 8 years of relevant experience in watershed engineering, stormwater management, drainage design, or water resources engineering Engineer Intern (EI) certification required with the ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in the State of Mississippi within a reasonable timeframe preferred Working knowledge of Mississippi drainage criteria, stormwater regulations, floodplain management practices, and permitting requirements preferred Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HY-8, SWMM, HydroCAD, ICPR, or similar platforms Experience preparing engineering reports, drainage studies, calculations, construction plans, and permitting documentation Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS software, and Microsoft Office Suite preferred Strong understanding of watershed analysis, stormwater management principles, open channel hydraulics, and erosion and sediment control practices Ability to communicate effectively with clients, regulatory agencies, project teams, and stakeholders Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced consulting environment Why Join Our Team We know work isn't only about what you do, it's also about who you work for and with!
