Job Description

Would you like the opportunity to be our next Water/Wastewater Engineer? As a Water/Wastewater Engineer here, you will have the opportunity to complete designs working on all aspects of water mains, replacement systems, treatment plants and to complete water source studies. You will have the opportunity to make an impact in communities such as Itasca, Frankfort, South Holland, Bourbonnais, Monee and Merrillville, Indiana. Your New Opportunity Preparing engineering plans, specifications, models, cost estimates, project schedules and overall project management of water and wastewater systems and related components Designing projects such as water/sanitary mains, pumping stations, storage tanks/reservoirs, water and wastewater treatment plants and well water systems Prepare engineering reports, engineering drawings and specifications for complex water/wastewater projects Prepare estimates, schedules and change orders for public improvements Perform construction administration and periodic inspection during construction of water/wastewater facilities Attending municipal board meetings as needed Your Background and Credentials Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering An active EIT or PE license in the state of Illinois preferred A minimum of 5 years experience Experience in direct design of municipal water and/or wastewater systems including modeling creation, calibration and evaluation Knowledge of IEPA, IDEM and Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago permitting processes preferred Experience with Microsoft products, specifically Word and Excel, is required Excellent verbal and written communication skills and relationship building skills Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills Your Perks You will work in a flexible workplace with a hybrid work schedule which will allow you a healthy work/life balance.
