Job Description

The Water/Wastewater Process Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the evaluation, planning, design, and construction administration of municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities & processes, distribution and collection systems, chemical storage & feed systems, and process mechanical, piping and pumping systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions. Responsibilities Assist in the planning, design, and analysis of water and wastewater treatment facility infrastructure and associated process mechanical systems Develop plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates for pumping stations, treatment facilities, and related infrastructure Perform hydraulic analyses, equipment selection, and system sizing Support project development activities including permitting and coordination with regulatory agencies Provide construction administration services, including shop drawing review, field observations, and coordination with contractors Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on schedule and within budget Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program 5-10 years of relevant experience in evaluating and designing process piping and process mechanical systems Strong understanding of mechanical systems, fluid mechanics, and treatment processes Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; familiarity with Revit or other 3D modeling software is a plus Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering Familiarity and experience with water and wastewater treatment facility processes and design Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the commonwealth of
