Job Description

Category Schools - General Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into an impactful teaching opportunity guiding high school students in their English studies as a General Education English Teacher on a contract basis. This full-time role (37.5 hours per week) focuses on fostering critical thinking, communication skills, and a passion for literature in a supportive, academically-driven high school environment. You'll play a key role in preparing students for future academic success while working alongside a collaborative educational team.
Key Qualifications:
Current Secondary English Certification required Proven experience teaching English at the high school level preferred Strong classroom management abilities and a demonstrated commitment to student growth Expertise in developing engaging lesson plans aligned with state standards Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both with students and colleagues
Responsibilities:
Design and implement dynamic lesson plans that spark curiosity and challenge students' understanding of language arts and literature Adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs within the general education classroom Assess, track, and report on students' academic progress Create a positive, inclusive classroom culture that motivates learners of all backgrounds Collaborate with fellow educators to enrich the high school English department and participate in professional development opportunities Enjoy the chance to shape the next generation of readers, writers, and thinkers in a vibrant school community ready to support your professional journey.
