Immersion English Language Arts Teacher is responsible for implementing daily lesson planning, executing positive classroom management, and ensuring a nurturing and safe environment for young children. The teacher will foster the intellectual, social, emotional, and academic development of students in alignment with our school curriculum as well as New Jersey educational standards. The teacher will also embrace the Jump! Immersion teaching philosophy, creating an engaging, hands-on learning experience that supports each child's individual growth.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
    Supervision & Safety:
    Supervise children at all times, ensuring their safety at the center, and following all center safety guidelines and policies.
      Positive Relationships:
      Build a loving and positive rapport with students, creating a welcoming, inclusive classroom environment that encourages trust and collaboration.
        Positive Reinforcement:
        Apply positive reinforcement techniques consistent with the Jump! teaching philosophy, promoting students' confidence and motivation.
          Lesson Planning & Delivery:
          Develop and execute daily lesson plans that incorporate hands-on activities based on the Creative Curriculum.
            Social & Emotional Development:
            Foster students' social and emotional development, helping them build self-regulation, resilience, and interpersonal skills.
              Academic Growth:
              Promote academic growth in early childhood literacy, numeracy, and other key areas, ensuring that lessons are aligned with both NJ State Standards and the needs of the students.
                Assessment:
                Conduct both formal and informal assessments to monitor the progress of students' skills and adjust lesson plans as needed.
                  Differentiated Instruction:
                  Design and implement differentiated activities that accommodate each student's unique learning needs, language proficiency, and developmental stage.
                    Individualized Support:
                    Create and execute individualized action plans for students requiring additional support, ensuring they receive appropriate guidance.
                      Technology Integration:
                      Integrate technology and instructional media (e.g., tablets, interactive whiteboards) to enhance student learning and engagement in a developmentally appropriate manner.
                        Documentation & Reporting:
                        Regularly update classroom boards, student portfolios, and report cards, ensuring accurate tracking of student progress and keeping parents informed.
                          Parent Communication:
                          Communicate assertively and professionally with parents and guardians, both in person and via email, to discuss student progress, upcoming events, and classroom activities.
                            Family Involvement:
                            Encourage and facilitate family involvement in school events, classroom visits, and cultural activities, fostering a strong home-school partnership.
                              Child Protection:
                              Use proper procedures to report suspicions of child abuse or neglect, ensuring a safe environment for all children.
                                Daily Operations:
                                Ensure that proper procedures are followed for daily sign-in/out of children and report any incidents to the Supervisor, completing necessary health logs and/or incident reports.
                                  Classroom Maintenance:
                                  Take responsibility for maintaining high standards for supplies, equipment, and materials used in the center, ensuring that the classroom remains organized and safe.
                                    Team Collaboration:
                                    Work collaboratively with colleagues to share ideas, strategies, and best practices, contributing to a positive team culture and school-wide goals.
                                      Classroom Preparation & Clean-Up:
                                      Assist in maintaining an organized, clean classroom by preparing materials and activities, as well as cleaning up after projects.
                                        Professional Development:
                                        Attend all required weekly staff meetings and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices, school policies, and teaching strategies.
                                          Other Duties:
                                          Perform other duties as assigned by management to ensure the smooth and effective operation of the classroom and school.
                                            Dress Code:
                                            Follow the school's dress code policy, ensuring professional attire that is appropriate for working with young children.

                                              Compliance:
                                              Ensure adherence to NJ childcare center state regulations and all school policies and procedures.
                                                Language Immersion:
                                                Demonstrate a strong understanding of language immersion principles and second language acquisition to enhance student learning.
                                                  Classroom Management:
                                                  Implement effective classroom management strategies, creating an environment where children feel safe, respected, and ready to learn.
                                                    Effective Communication:
                                                    Exhibit excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
                                                      Organizational Skills:
                                                      Stay organized to maintain a clean, efficient, and safe classroom environment, managing materials and activities effectively.
                                                        Problem-Solving & Decision-Making:
                                                        Display strong problem-solving abilities and initiative in addressing classroom challenges and adapting to the needs of students.
                                                          Teamwork:
                                                          Work cooperatively with other teachers and staff members to enhance the school community and share ideas for continuous improvement.
                                                            Technology Skills:
                                                            Demonstrate proficiency in using basic computer skills (email, Microsoft Office, Google Drive), as well as the ability to integrate technology into lessons in a developmentally appropriate manner.
                                                              Cultural Competency:
                                                              Show respect for diverse backgrounds and cultures, particularly in working with children and families from various linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
                                                              EMPLOYEE SAFETY
                                                              The employee is responsible for using safety devices and protective equipment to minimize the frequency and severity of work-related accidents. The employee must follow safety practices and methods related to their job, ensuring a safe working environment for themselves and students.
