VACANCY NOTICE NEW FAIRFIELD BOARD OF EDUCATION POSITION

GENERAL DUTIES

The ideal candidate will possess strong instructional practices, the ability to build meaningful relationships with students, and a commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment that supports diverse learners.

Responsibilities will include:

Teach high school English courses in alignment with district curriculum and Connecticut standards Develop and deliver engaging lessons that promote literacy, critical thinking, and effective communication skills Differentiate instruction to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of diverse learners Assess student learning and provide timely, meaningful feedback to students and families Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom culture Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administration to support student success Integrate technology and instructional best practices into classroom instruction Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, curriculum work, and school community activities as appropriate

QUALIFICATIONS

Valid Connecticut Certification:

015 English (Grades 7-12) required or NY equivalent to work towards certification reciprocity. Strong knowledge of secondary English curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment practices Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
