Description
Choate Rosemary Hall seeks a full-time English teacher to join our community for a one-year appointment beginning in August 2026. The successful candidate should be comfortable teaching across all four years of the English curriculum, centering student growth in skills of reading, writing, and discussion through the study of a range of diverse authors, voices, and critical perspectives. Candidates should have a strong foundation in writing pedagogy that thoughtfully integrates inclusive and equitable classroom practices into their teaching and course design. While 3+ years of teaching experience is an advantage, we welcome applications from both experienced educators and those newer to the profession who demonstrate curiosity, potential, and a commitment to professional growth. A master's degree in English or a related field is preferred. Priority will be given to candidates who can serve as an assistant coach for one or more of the following varsity sports: ice hockey, girls lacrosse, soccer, squash, track (sprint or distance-focused), wrestling, and/or swimming. Successful teaching and strong engagement in one of the above sport(s) could lead to an ongoing position.
Choate is committed to building and sustaining a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community where all members feel valued and respected. We actively seek colleagues who bring a variety of backgrounds, identities, and perspectives to our school, and we strongly encourage applications from candidates from historically underrepresented or marginalized groups.
Please submit a cover letter with your resume.
