Job Description

We are searching for an on-site Electrical Engineer in Essex Junction, VT who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our clients' business. Join us and you'll have the chance to work on projects including advanced semiconductor manufacturing and other state of the art manufacturing facilities. Our engineers are responsible for delivery of complex construction packages including tool installation design. You'll be accountable for schedule and technical quality of assigned routine engineering tasks, as you gain familiarity with the client's expectations, scope, budget and schedule for assigned tasks, you'll effectively recognize and communicate scope and design changes promptly. You'll coordinate work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead. Your multi-discipline, highly interactive team may produce single-line diagrams depicting electrical power systems 480V through 208Y/120V, installation details, electric room layouts, tool installation connection diagrams, cable schedules, power plans, lighting plans, breaker coordination studies, and Arc Flash / Short-Circuit Current studies. You will support senior engineers in selection and specification of electrical equipment. You may also be asked to provide on-site assistance during startups. To be successful in this position you will need excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The position requires forward thinking, eagerness to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas, collaborating and working effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams. BS in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Energy from an ABET accredited University. Familiarity of design and construction specifications Local to or willing to relocate to Essex Junction, VT as this position is considered project site/hybrid and may require you to work in the local office/ project site This is an on-site position requiring work to be performed on the client site in Essex Junction, VT; Candidate must be willing to commute to the site Monday-Friday during normal business hours - nominally 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with some flexibility based on ability of site to support and employee preference. Relocation assistance may be provided for qualified candidate. Position requires field visits and walks at an active client site in various stages of construction. Applicant must be able to walk long distances, sit and stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, twist, crawl, climb ladders, work on catwalks, work in small spaces, lift and carry up to 25lbs. Applicant must complete background check, drug screen and be fully authorized to work for any client in the United States. Jacobs will not sponsor or continue a Visa for this position.
