Full-Time | Entry-Level About the Role We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Purchasing Manager to join our growing utility construction team. This role is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in procurement, construction operations, and vendor management. You will support project teams by coordinating material purchases, assisting with vendor communication, and ensuring timely delivery of equipment and supplies needed for water, sewer, storm, and Grading projects. Key Responsibilities Assist in purchasing materials, equipment, and supplies for active construction projects Communicate with vendors to request quotes, place orders, and track deliveries Help maintain and update purchase orders and procurement records Verify pricing, availability, and delivery schedules Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and field teams to meet job site needs Track order status and resolve delivery or billing issues Support cost control efforts by comparing vendor pricing and sourcing alternatives Maintain organized documentation of all purchasing activity Assist with inventory tracking and material reconciliation as needed Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred (Business, Construction Management, or related field a plus) Strong organizational and communication skills Basic computer skills (Excel, email, data entry) Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced construction environment Willingness to learn purchasing processes and construction materials Prior construction or administrative experience is a plus, but not required What We Offer Hands-on training and career development in construction procurement Opportunity to grow into a senior purchasing or project coordination role Competitive pay based on experience Health and benefit options Stable, long-term employment with a growing utility contractor
