Health Insurance Life Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Paid Time Off Schedule/Shift 40-50 hours per week Monday through Friday Day shifts only Work Location In person (only) Ability to commute: Saint Martinville, LA 70582 (Required) Position Summary Cypress Fabrication is looking to hire an entry-level Quality Control Inspector to support daily inspection and documentation activities in our fabrication shop. This position is a good opportunity for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, and willing to learn quality control in a fabrication environment. The inspector will perform dimensional inspections, visual weld inspections, hydrostatic test witnessing, traceability/tracking, and processing inspection records into the company's electronic filing system. Primary Responsibilities Perform Inspections The Quality Control Inspector will assist with shop inspection activities, including: Performing dimensional fitment inspections. Witnessing hydrostatic testing. Performing visual inspection of welds. Checking general workmanship during fabrication. Verifying fabricated components meet drawing and project requirements. Notifying the Quality Manager or shop foreman of any issues found during inspection. Maintain Traceability The inspector will be responsible for gathering and tracking required traceability information during fabrication, including: Heat numbers for components being built. Welder stencil numbers for welded components. Part numbers. Serial numbers. Component identification as required by the project. Process Quality Forms and Records This position will be responsible for completing and processing inspection records, including: Dimensional inspection forms. Visual inspection / VT forms. Hydrostatic test forms. Weld maps. The inspector will be required to fill out applicable forms and process them into the correct project folders. Experience Preferred Experience Experience is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
Preferred experience includes:
Fabrication shop experience. Welding or fitting background. Basic inspection experience. Ability to read or learn fabrication drawings. Basic computer skills. Experience completing forms or filing electronic records. Experience with cameras. Requirements Strong attention to detail. Dependable and willing to learn. Ability to work in a fabrication shop environment. Ability to communicate clearly with all team members involved. Assertiveness in decision making. Ability to complete paperwork clearly and accurately. Ability to read a tape measure. Ability to follow written procedures and instructions. Ability to take initiative and follow through on assigned tasks. Work Environment This position will primarily be based on the fabrication shop floor. The inspector will spend most of their time performing inspections, gathering traceability information, taking inspection photos, and communicating with production personnel as work progresses. The position will also include some computer-based work to complete forms, organize photos, and file inspection records electronically.
