Environmental Laboratory Technician-Microbiologist

Job Summary Sierra Analytical Labs seeks an individual both experienced and eager to take on the daily challenges of environmental analysis in the Microbiology field. This individual will also assist the Wet Chemistry Department by analyzing drinking water, ground water, and wastewater. Requirements 3-5 years of laboratory experience required, emphasizing Microbiology or Bench Chemistry (Wet Chemistry) including Media Prep Familiar with Drinking Water Methods for Microbiology including SM9221, SM9222, and SM9223, and a firm understanding of the Revised Total Coliform Rule. Experience with both ELAP and TNI Requirements Experience with LIMS and data entry, recording, and retention Minimum General Chemistry experience required; training is available. Capable of troubleshooting and communicating daily activities with the Department Supervisor or Technical Manager Understanding of Sample Receiving and Sample Integrity Requirements including invalidations, preservation, and appropriate sampling containers Capable of maintaining all QC checks based on required intervals Field Sampling experience; training is available Firm understanding of project requirements and communication with clients as requested Familiar with SOP Manuals, Revisions, and Proficiency Testing Capable of assisting with sample receiving during high-volume times Clean driving record Attention to detail and ability to always maintain the highest degree of accuracy
