Job Description

Environmental Services & Maintenance Technician Job Summary Big Rapids, Reed City, and Canadian Lakes, Michigan West Michigan Surgery Center and Michigan Primary Care Partners are seeking a full-time, dependable, hands-on individual to join our team. This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining our ambulatory surgery center, including operating rooms and other clinical and non-clinical areas, while also providing general building maintenance and coordinating grounds and facility services for our medical office locations in Big Rapids, Reed City, and Canadian Lakes. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and willing to assist wherever needed to help maintain clean, safe, and efficiently operating healthcare facilities.
Responsibilities:
Performing terminal cleaning and sanitization of operating rooms and cleaning and upkeep of other clinical and non-clinical areas within the surgery center in accordance with established procedures and infection control standards Monitoring and changing oxygen and other medical gas tanks as needed, performing and documenting monthly generator checks, and maintaining required facility, generator, and medical gas logbooks Performing routine and preventative maintenance and general interior and exterior facility upkeep, including repairs such as minor plumbing, carpentry, painting, and basic maintenance work (such as replacing light bulbs, changing air filters, and minor office repairs), while coordinating licensed contractors for specialized repairs as needed Coordinating outside vendors for plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpet cleaning, window cleaning, lawn care, snow removal, and other grounds and facilities maintenance services Conducting routine facility and grounds inspections and identifying maintenance or safety concerns Assisting with special projects and other duties as assigned Responding to urgent facility issues and occasional after-hours emergencies as needed Qualifications Previous maintenance, environmental services, housekeeping, or healthcare facility experience preferred Basic mechanical and maintenance knowledge preferred Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50 pounds Ability to climb ladders and perform occasional roof access Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical work for extended periods Training Provided Infection control and bloodborne pathogen training OSHA safety training Operating room cleaning procedures AAAHC compliance requirements Work Environment This position may involve exposure to cleaning chemicals, medical waste, bloodborne pathogens, and other materials commonly encountered in healthcare settings. Appropriate training and personal protective equipment will be provided. Schedule This is primarily a second-shift position, with typical hours beginning in the afternoon (approximately 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM or 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM), depending on operational needs. Some flexibility may be required, along with occasional after-hours emergency response.
Pay:
$20.00 - $26.00 per hour
