Job Description

About the Company A growing civil/site contractor specializing in underground utilities and site development is seeking an experienced Equipment Manager to support its expanding operations. The company has a strong backlog of public infrastructure work and offers long-term stability within a close-knit, highly tenured team. The Opportunity This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing shop operations and managing a fleet of heavy equipment. The Equipment Manager will play a critical role in ensuring equipment readiness, supporting field operations, and coordinating all aspects of fleet maintenance and logistics. Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day shop operations and maintenance activities Manage fleet of heavy equipment including scheduling, repairs, and preventative maintenance Coordinate equipment movement between job sites Manage equipment purchasing, rentals, and vendor relationships Partner with field teams to ensure equipment availability and performance Maintain records for maintenance, inspections, and compliance Lead and support shop personnel Qualifications 10+ years experience as a heavy equipment mechanic 2+ years experience in a shop or equipment management role Strong understanding of heavy civil/site equipment Preferred Experience Experience with site work contractors or self-perform operations Knowledge of process piping and pipe tapping Welding experience Additional Details Open to both union and non-union candidates Why Join Strong pipeline of work providing long-term stability Diverse project portfolio across public infrastructure Highly tenured team with a strong, team-oriented culture Opportunity to step into a key role within a growing organization
