Job Overview The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy machinery in support of daily production and site operations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining efficient, safe, and compliant operations through equipment operation related to composting, material handling, and site maintenance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment. Leadership that values safety, professionalism, and growth Essential Job Functions Operate heavy equipment in support of day‑to‑day production activities. Operate construction and site equipment, including, but not limited to, excavators, front‑end loaders, yard trucks, and other heavy machinery. Perform required pre‑operation and post‑operation equipment inspections. Monitor equipment performance and report mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly. Maintain a safe and orderly work area in compliance with company safety policies. Support plant operations through special projects and additional assigned duties. Comply with all safety, environmental, and operational procedures. Other duties as assigned
What You Need:
High School diploma or GED required. Vocational training or apprenticeship preferred. Experience or familiarity with compost operations is a plus but not required. Prior experience operating heavy machinery in an industrial or construction environment preferred. Strong working knowledge of heavy equipment operation and capabilities. Mechanical aptitude, including experience with pumps and valves preferred. Ability to troubleshoot and problem‑solve equipment issues. Strong communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Self‑motivated with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Certifications Valid driver's license

Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, when necessary. Ability to operate equipment in all weather conditions and terrain types. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
CERTIFICATIONS
Valid driver's license required. Equipment operation or vocational certifications preferred but not required.
