Durand Area Schools Substitute Food Service Worker Job Description Title:

Food Service/Kitchen Job summary: Provide service/support in the form of tasks associated with meal preparation, serving and clean-up of breakfast and/or lunches within the individual school buildings.

Essential Job Functions:

All duties connected to managing the food service programs which may include; working knowledge of safety and sanitation guidelines, assist the head cook(s) with meal preparation, set up serving lines, serve students during breakfast and/or lunch periods, keep serving lines stocked and clean during serving periods, operate "point of sale" (POS) system & balance cash drawer, clean tables, clean kitchen area, clean serving lines/close serving lines and assist with any other duties assigned.

Qualifications:

No degree needed Excellent customer service skills Previous experience in the food service industry Knowledge of all food service sanitation guidelines Strong customer service skills with an interest in working with students of various age groups Must meet all required state health guidelines (vaccinations, etc) Some lifting may be required Ability to successfully pass all criminal background check(s) Must complete all required on-line training (GCN) Shift is 8:30am to 12:30pm daily Contact Lorie Grant, Food Service Director if you are interested at lgrant@durand.k12.mi.us The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
