Job Description

A family-owned civil concrete contractor in the Siouxland area is looking to add an Estimator / Project Manager due to projected growth. They specialize in heavy highway and utility work and have a strong reputation for quality and teamwork. Projects are local, typically within a 50-mile radius, offering minimal travel and a great work-life balance. Position Overview This role will be responsible for both estimating and managing civil construction projects from bid through completion. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in both office and field settings. Key Responsibilities Prepare accurate cost estimates for heavy highway and utility projects Review plans, specifications, and bid documents Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes Manage awarded projects including scheduling, budgeting, and coordination Work closely with field crews to ensure successful project execution Track job costs, productivity, and project progress Maintain communication with clients, vendors, and internal teams Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget Qualifications 2-3+ years of experience in civil concrete construction (heavy highway or utilities preferred) Commercial construction experience will also be considered Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Strong organizational and time management skills Effective communication and problem-solving abilities Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office is preferred Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities What's Offered Competitive salary based on experience Stable, family-oriented company culture Local work with minimal travel Strong emphasis on work-life balance If you'd like to be considered for this position or speak to someone directly about it, please call 605-705-3365 or email phoebe.johnson@gogpac.com
