Full-time (Day Shift, Monday - Friday) Job Description Are you a numbers-driven professional who understands how a fabrication shop actually runs? At Kammerer Dynamics Inc. (KDi), every successful project starts with an accurate quote. As we take on more structural steel jobs and complex, one-off custom fabrications, we need a sharp, detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. We aren't looking for someone to just guess at hours; we need a strategic thinker who can look at a blueprint, understand exactly what it takes our shop to build it, and produce rock-solid numbers. In this role, you will be the financial front line for our projects. You'll need to keep your finger on the pulse of the steel market, understand the capabilities of our equipment—from our fiber lasers and pipe benders to our robotic welders and powder line—and translate all of that into competitive, profitable quotes.

The Mission:

Accurate Take-Offs:

Break down complex blueprints and structural drawings into precise material and labor take-offs.

Produce & Present Quotes:

Build comprehensive quotes for management review, ensuring we are hitting our margins while staying competitive. Know the

Actively track fluctuating steel and material pricing so our quotes always reflect current market realities. Understand the

Shop Floor:

You can't quote what you don't understand. You must know our production capabilities, routing times, and machine speeds so the hours you quote match the reality on the floor. Drive the

Pipeline:

Work closely with the Engineering and Sales teams to get quotes turned around quickly. A stalled quote is a lost job—you need the drive to push the pace.

Qualifications:

Experience:

Proven estimating experience in a steel fabrication, manufacturing, or structural environment.

Technical Skills:

Expert-level blueprint reading. You need to be able to visualize a 2D drawing or 3D model (experience with software like Tekla or Autodesk Inventor is a major plus) and know how it gets built.

Analytical Mindset:

Highly organized with a "Trust but Verify" approach to math, material yields, and labor estimates.

Market Awareness:

A solid understanding of steel pricing, material grades, and supply chain dynamics.

Communication:
