  • Full-time Overview Kenney Acoustical Tile is seeking a highly motivated and detailed oriented Acoustical Ceiling Estimator in joining a family owned business.
The role is essential to our fast paced team, providing accurate estimates in the scope of acoustical ceilings and acoustical wall and ceiling treatments. The estimator prepares and presents comprehensive bids and proposals to designated project managers and general contractors. This role involves strong analytic skills, industry specific experience, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines with accuracy and confidence. This is an opportunity to play a key role in a collaborating estimating team where your expertise directly impacts project success and company growth. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction estimating and project management, with a proven ability to build accurate estimates and manage costs effectively. Responsibilities Oversee the preparation of detailed cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Construct payment applications monthly. Knowledge and utilizing estimating software to develop and maintain comprehensive estimates. Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate pricing. Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather data for estimating purposes. Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. Negotiate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers to secure the best possible rates. Implement cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to budget constraints. Provide leadership and mentorship to the estimating team, fostering a collaborative work environment. Prepare reports on estimating activities and present findings to senior management. Prepare detailed quantitative takeoffs for acoustical ceilings using takeoff software. Maintain strong client vendor relationships Manage RFIs and addenda throughout bidding process Draft detailed acoustical ceiling proposals Present bids to project managers by established due dates Conduct jobsite visits as necessary to verify existing conditions Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is desired; or experience in estimating/construction management. Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction site operations. Proficiency in Excel, VU360 software, and estimation software is essential. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with vendors and subcontractors. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate cost assessments. Knowledge of project management principles and practices within the construction industry. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with stakeholders at all levels. To perform this role successfully, candidates must be able to execute each essential duty at a high level of accuracy and professionalism. Strong understanding of carpentry and acoustical ceiling knowledge Proven to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously Proficient in reading specifications and blueprints with strength in detail Carpentry and Acoustical Ceiling background ideal, not required Collaborative, team oriented mindset with a professional and respectful communication with people.
