Job Description

Summary The Line Cook is an essential position in the Heart of House. The Line Cook is responsible for setting up their station for service and for preparing food to the exact chef's specifications. The Line cook duties will consist of assisting the executive and sous chef with their daily tasks and play a key role in contributing to our customers satisfaction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Ensure that the kitchen, all food prep areas and all food storage areas meet restaurant cleaning standards 2. Learn serving portion sizes and all basic meal prep procedures used in the kitchen 3. Work with team of cooks to do portion prep work for other shifts when needed 4. Prepare basic components of each dish on our menu 5. Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies 6. Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion 7. Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef's instructions 8. Stock inventory appropriately 9. Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards 10. Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly convey information and ideas with cooks and chefs and all areas of the restaurant. Ability to positively adapt to change in a highly dynamic work environment. Team oriented with a professional, enthusiastic and friendly demeanor. Exceptional attention to detail. Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize and balance multiple tasks. Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a continuously changing paced work environment. Preferred Qualifications Proven cooking experience (2 years) in a high-volume kitchen Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks Familiar with industry's best practices Available to work nights and weekends Brunch experience a plus Serve Safe Certified- preferred Supervisory Responsibility No direct supervisory responsibilities.
