As the Events and Adventures Director, your primary responsibility is Cultivating a fully engaged lifestyle—intellectually, physically and spiritually—for all our residents, which requires intimately knowing every resident and their unique needs and preferences.Other primary responsibilities include:
Direct and supervise all events, adventures, fitness and transportation at the community by hiring, managing, scheduling and mentoring compassionate and competent Events and Adventures team members Plan, organize and execute amazing events (day-to-day fun) and exciting adventures for our residents, including residents in Harbor, and publish a monthly calendar of those events and adventures Cultivate individual relationships with every resident to ensure their unique needs and preferences are met through a broad array of events and adventures that touch on all six dimensions of wellness Physical assist residents as needed (e.g., sitting and standing, getting in and out of vehicles, etc.) to help them overcome mobility limitations and fully participate in events and adventures Deliver on the YUSM promise—that through individualized support, residents will feel youthful, stay useful, be spontaneous and remain mobile Collaborate with the Culinary, Resident Services and Harbor teams on planning events and adventures that utilize the full capabilities of the community and team, and that seek to engage every resident regardless of mobility or physical limitations Publish a monthly newsletter filled with interesting and useful content for our residents, families and prospective residents Develop relationships with outside resources to ensure our residents stay connected with the larger community and have unique opportunities to give and receive through serviceRequirements:
Team Leader Position:
This position is a team leader (i.e., department manager) and more than half of the individual's actual time will be devoted to supervising more than two other team members on a regular basis. The individual is responsible for exercising discretion and judgment, with authority to make decisions on matters relating to events and adventures. However, as in any team, it's imperative that this team leader fluidly communicate with other team leaders and the Executive Director on all matters of importance. The responsibilities of this position require that the individual remain accessible and on-call to address emergent issue related to resident care and will be required to periodically work evenings and weekends.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher, preferred 3-5 years of experience leading a team in event planning, activities or engagement Experience interacting with and deeply relating to seniors Meets all applicable licensing and background requirements Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Alignment with Tenfold core values: curiosity, creativity, resilience, compassion, intention, and contributionBenefits:
