Job Description
Tedford Housing is seeking dynamic professional to join our team as Events & Development Assistant. For over 35 years, Tedford Housing has been empowering people to move from homelessness to home. Based in Brunswick and serving Sagadahoc, Lincoln, and Cumberland and Androscoggin counties, Tedford has relocated its shelter programs and administration to a new expanded facility. The Events & Development Assistant will report to the Director of Development and will be a key member of the administrative and fundraising team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and customer service skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. This is a 24-hour a week, non-benefitted position with an hourly rate of $25 per hour. Typical hours will be during the regular work week with occasional weekend and evening hours necessary depending on event schedules. Typical Duties and Key Responsibilities of the Events & Development Assistant are: 1. Event Planning & Execution Support the planning, administration, and execution of fundraising and community events Research and secure venues, catering, rentals, and other vendors; serve as primary point of contact for logistics coordination Manage invitation processes, including guest lists, RSVP tracking, and follow-up communications Coordinate event materials and on-site needs (run of show, signage, nametags, etc.) Support procurement, organization, and tracking of auction and raffle items, including donor communication and acknowledgment Support procurement, organization, and tracking of auction and raffle items, including donor communication and acknowledgment (1 auction and/or raffle annually) Assist with auctions and raffles, including procurement and organization of items from community Provide on-site support at events, helping manage set-up, guest experience, and breakdown Support Tedford Housing's presence at additional third-party fundraising events and local parades (approximately 5-6 annually) 2. Corporate Sponsorships & Community Partnerships Actively support the growth of Tedford Housing's corporate giving and sponsorship program Research, identify, and build a pipeline of prospective business partners (local and statewide) Conduct outreach via phone, email, and in-person meetings to introduce Tedford's mission and sponsorship opportunities Schedule and participate in 1:1 meetings with business owners, managers, and corporate representatives Assist in developing and presenting sponsorship opportunities for events and the annual fund Track and fulfill sponsorship deliverables, ensuring partners receive agreed-upon benefits (e.g., logo placement, event recognition, social media mentions, tickets) Steward existing business relationships to encourage repeat and increased giving Track outreach activity, meetings, and outcomes to support relationship management and revenue goals in CRM 3. Donor Administration & Database Management Assist the Director of Development & Director of Administration to maintain accurate, up-to-date donor and gift records in Little Green Light (CRM), ensuring data consistency for mailings and communications Support the execution of bulk mailings and donor communications Assist in printing and mailing timely, personalized donor acknowledgment letters
Qualifications and Skills:
2-3 years of experience in an office environment, particularly in an events or development role. Bachelors degree preferred Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building positive relationships with clients and visitors Computer literacy is required, with knowledge and understanding of Microsoft 365 products Strong listening, oral, phone and written communication skills Ability to take initiative and act effectively in various circumstances without direction, managing your time well Ability to maintain composure and deal calmly with stressful situations Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively All Tedford employees are responsible for: Acting with integrity, honesty and fostering teamwork in an engaged and inclusive culture Treating all staff, volunteers and clients fairly and with respect, responsiveness and courtesy Maintaining client confidentiality Exercising good judgment and discernment when making decisions Accomplishing assigned tasks within established timeframes Following company policies, procedures, standards and guidelines Maintaining adherence to organizational policies for the safety of all staff, clients and volunteers This is a 24-hour a week, non-benefitted position with an hourly rate of $25 per hour.
