Job Description
Job description Join our dedicated team at EverPresent, where you'll work in a safe and supportive environment to preserve cherished family memories and the sights and sounds of the past. This role is not client-facing and requires on-site work at our Newton, MA production facility. As a Media Archiving Technician, you'll handle a range of old formats, including photographs, VHS tapes, 8mm film, and vinyl records. Each item is carefully processed and converted to digital format to protect and share valuable histories, making the role deeply rewarding. While previous experience is always helpful, it is not required. We are thrilled to train people in this craft. Prospective team members should be comfortable with computers and navigating technology.
Job duties include:
Live capture of old Audio, Film, Video and Image formats (such as Slides, Photo Albums, VHS, mDV, vinyl, 8mm, Super8, 16mm, reel to reel, etc.) at our facility in Newton, MA. Evaluation of the quality and integrity of the captured media by checking that our product meets all client and company standards Minimal editing, but you will be at times refining digitized files Tracking your work electronically and meeting daily output goals Receiving new projects into our headquarters and properly binning, barcoding, labeling, and entering them into our database Packaging completed projects, labeling items according to standards and reviewing paperwork to ensure accuracy of orders Other duties, as assignedEssential Job Requirements:
Exhibit high attention to detail and excellent organizational skills Are motivated, quick learners able to adapt to new challenges Are able to focus and prioritize tasks in a thorough and efficient manner Able to work in a professional environment and comfortable communicating with peers as well as upwards. Are skilled in using computers and possess basic Excel or Google Sheets spreadsheet knowledge Ability to learn and utilize internal systems (Google Suite, barcoding, CRM) Are punctual and have access to reliable personal or public transportation Are fluent in written and spoken English Are authorized to work in the US without sponsorship Possess a high school diploma or equivalent Previous similar experience and Interest in Photography, and Media Production content is a plus!Essential Physical Job Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk; use fingers, hands and arms to feel, reach, handle, push, pull, and carry; bend, lift and move 25-45 lbs Ability to sit at and use a computer for extended periods of time Tolerance for dust, mold and mildew that the employee may encounter when working with and transporting old and/or damaged film, photographs or related media Vision which permits the employee to examine a wide variety of video, audio, film, photographic, and related media in analog and digital forms. Shift days and start times for these roles are non-negotiable due to business and coverage requirements.
