Executive Assistant to Owner for Fast Growing Law Firm 10603 West Sam Houston Parkway North, Houston, TX 77064 From $80,000 a year - Full-time From $80,000 a year - Full-time Duffley Law is looking for an exceptional Executive Assistant to support the firm's owner and principal attorney. This is not a traditional administrative assistant role. This is a high-trust, high-impact position for someone who wants to become a true force multiplier for the owner of a fast-growing law firm. The right person will be highly intelligent, proactive, extremely organized, and willing to take initiative without waiting to be told exactly what to do. Your job is to help the owner multiply his impact across the business by protecting his time, organizing his priorities, spotting problems, taking initiative on projects to move the firm forward, following up relentlessly, and taking ownership of anything that helps the firm operate better. This role is for someone who wants to be deeply involved in building something great. What You'll Do You will help the owner stay focused on the highest-value work while making sure important details, projects, communications, and follow-ups do not fall through the cracks. You'll also help to move key projects along promptly. Day to day tasks may vary widely, especially early on as the owner works on a variety of different tasks and priorities. The focus of the role may change greatly each week or month, especially as business opportunities and priorities change.
Responsibilities may include:
Managing the owner's e-mail inbox and identifying what needs attention Managing and protecting the owner's calendar Preparing for meetings and tracking follow-up items Coordinating projects across sales, marketing, recruiting, operations, and leadership Jumping in on sales calls, team meetings, trainings, and other meetings Creating written and video content for the firm Negotiating with vendors Managing social media posts and profiles Locating & setting up new satellite office locations for firm expansion Submitting payroll Interviewing potential hires Onboarding team members Executing AI & automation projects Following up with team members, vendors, referral partners, and other key contacts Helping organize reports, dashboards, metrics, and priorities Identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement Drafting communications, summaries, agendas, and internal documents Drafting sales scripts Helping create systems, checklists, and processes as the firm grows (whether for the legal team, sales team, management team, or anything else) Seeking opportunities to help the owner without being asked And more The real job will be broader than any task list. It will require noticing what needs to be done, taking ownership, and helping move the business forward. That means priorities will change regularly. This also means you will have non-stop opportunities to learn and improve as the business grows. The owner works long hours each week building the company and will need your help. While you will not necessarily be expected to work the exact same schedule, Duffley Law needs to be your primary professional focus. That means work in the evenings and during weekends in many cases. Speedy communication will be crucial, even during odd hours. This role requires serious commitment, responsiveness, initiative, and effort. You should not apply if you need constant direction, only want clearly assigned tasks, dislike ambiguity, or are looking for a low-intensity administrative role. Compensation This position pays a starting salary of $80,000 per year . Compensation will grow as systems improve and impact grows.
